World’s Largest Ball Of Stickers Displayed At Fletcher Free Library
The Fletcher Free Library will display the world’s largest ball of stickers in its front window, from now until mid-January. The 308.25 pound ball was awarded the official GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title on November 11, 2020.
To tie in with the world-record display, the library has partnered with Burlington City Arts and Church Street Marketplace to provide a scavenger window-hunt that encourages safe, outdoor activity during this pandemic winter. The clues all relate to records set by Vermonters. The Wacky Winter Fun in Record-Breaking Vermont Scavenger Hunt sheets may be picked up at the Fletcher Free Library or printed from their website (fletcherfree.org). The completed puzzle sheets may be returned to the library for entry into a raffle. Multiple prizes include beanies from Keep Vermont Weird. The first 50 participants to return their completed puzzle to the library will receive a Lake Champlain Chocolate candy. The raffle drawing will be held January 9.
“Vermonters are amazing,” said Library Director Mary Danko. “We’re excited to share some of the special—and wacky—things people do, and to help add joy and fun to an unusual holiday season with this outside scavenger hunt.”
The sticker ball is on loan from Sticky Brand, the Vermont-based company specializing in custom-made stickers, decals, and design services. “From the get-go, we knew we wanted the Sticker Ball to be a fun piece of art that we could share with all of Burlington,” said Sticky Brand Creative Group CEO Michael Rist. “We’re so thrilled to have the opportunity to display it at the Fletcher Free Library, where the rest of our community can visit and interact with the record-breaking ball.“ Read more about the partnership in the Burlington Free Press.
